Bio
Kelly Mermelstein,
the owner of this sorry state of affairs, is a 3D Lighting Artist specialist, but loves dabbling in all forms of the CG world. Not only that, but she considers herself a digital illustrator, and while not quite as strong with it, is constantly working to better herself (as any artist would say in any aspect of their work). She’s also known for doing some amateur photography whenever she remembers her camera and has a model around, and sometimes wonders if she have just done that instead of CG.
Alas, CG is really, truly where her heart belongs, and like much of the times right now, is still trying to get her foot in the door. Having graduated from the Pratt Institute in 2009 from Brooklyn, New York, she currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, but tends to wander around if ever given the chance.
Unbeknownst to her as to how she managed these accomplishments, Kelly’s senior capstone film, (F)light, was featured at KinoFest 2010, Pratt Show in 2009, and won Best In Show for the Epiphany Children’s Film Festival in 2010. She was also apart of SIGGRAPH’s FJORG! Animation competition in New Orleans, 2009, and her team, “Squid Juice,” won for “Most Innovative Interpretation of the Theme.” She also had her first screen credit in 4kids Entertainment’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Back To The Sewers as a Color Assistant, and now also has screen credit for Cartoon Network’s Robotomy. She has shipped two AAA titles, Homefront (2011) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011).
As she now feels really weird having regarded to herself in 3rd person this entire time, would be more than happy to answer any questions to may have for her, by emailing her at: kelly@antipyretic.net. She promises to be far less self-deprecating and is actually a very, very enjoyable person to be around (most days). She promises to do her best not to bite, and at the very least will entertain you in someway.
